Welcome to my pottery collection. I just joined a new studio and plan to have some new work for sale on this site soon. meanwhile, check the gallery, archive and photos. I'll also update this when there are new places in Colorado Springs where you can see my work.
I've been working with clay since I took a class in 2007 at the Bemis School, part of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center, and got hooked. I love the feeling of creating with my hands, seeing a form take shape on the wheel; Experimenting with textures and color while not seeing the final result until it comes out of the kiln transformed.
I often find myself motivated to create functional containers with whimsical components inspired from nature.
From the slightly asymmetrical spheres of fruits, nuts, squash and berries to the flow of roots to trunk and the arc of branches and curve of stems.
I hope you enjoy looking around. I'm adding to my inventory weekly, and will occasionally update this site with new pots, but if you're interested in something special let me know and I'll make some for you to consider.
Please send comments and ask me questions so I know what to add to this site.
All of my functional pottery is high-fired stoneware that is lead- free, food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and microwave-safe.
I have started to also do Raku which is a decorative form only. - All Raku is clearly marked and while lead-free is NOT water-tight, NOT Food-Safe and NOT Dishwasher-Safe.
